If you have carpet covering the floors of your home, you know that there are bound to be accidents. Fortunately, there are effective ways to get rid of various types of stains. However, if after reading this you are still experiencing difficulties with removing the stain, contact our Manassas maid services at Elite Home Cleaning, LLC immediately.
Removing Juice Stains
First, blot the stain with a dry towel. Rubbing or smearing will make it much harder to remove the stain and could result in saturation of the carpet pad underneath. Mix Dawn dish soap, white vinegar, and water in a misting spray bottle. Use ¼ cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp of Dawn dish soap, and fill with water. Spray the area and let it soak for approximately five to ten minutes, then blot with a dry, clean towel until the stain is gone. If the stain is quite stubborn, you may use carpet stain removal products – such as Resolve Carpet Cleaner, Bissel Carpet Stain Treatment, or Oxi-Clean for Stained Carpets – as directed and then repeat the vinegar mix method until the stain is removed.
Removing Coffee Stains
Dry the spot as much as possible by blotting it with a dry cloth. If there is a significant amount of spillage, make sure you don’t spread the stain by changing cloths. Try the vinegar, Dawn dish soap, and water method first with the spritz, then rinse and repeat.
Removing Pet Stains
First, clean up the mess. If the mess is feces, pick it up with gloves and throw it away. If it is wet, then use the blot method to soak up the moisture until the stain is removed. If the stain is dried on the carpet fibers, then you must moisten the stain using a special carpet stain cleaning product specifically created to get rid of pet stains.
Removing Blood Stains
It is always important to treat a blood stain as quickly as possible. One of the substantial differences in cleaning blood stains on carpets is that cold water is used, as opposed to warm or hot water, since blood coagulates with heat while cold water prevents the blood from spreading throughout the carpet fibers.
In a spray bottle, add two teaspoons of liquid, grease-fighting dish detergent to a full bottle of cold water. Then spray the solution on the stain so that it is entirely submerged in the solution. With a paper towel or dry cloth, blot the stain. Rinse with cold water, then repeat if the stain is still present.
Removing Ink Stains
Dampen a clean cloth with isopropyl alcohol, then dab the ink stain. Again, do not rub or scrub.
